A shooting inside the STEM School Highlands Ranch in suburban Denver earlier this week killed 18-year-old student Kendrick Castillo and injured eight other students. This incident resulted in the largest number of injuries in a school shooting so far this year, according to Education Week‘s school shooting tracker.
While school shootings are still , the event has raised familiar questions about how to stop the violence and keep students safe.
