The federal Government Accountability Office is calling for more oversight for 21st Century Community Learning Centers.

Trump鈥檚 proposal was roundly criticized by after-school program advocates such as the Afterschool Alliance, STEM Next, and some members of Congress, who argued that the program provides much-needed support for students and their parents.
Now a new GAO report entitled, 鈥淓ducation Needs to Improve Oversight of Its 21st Century Program,鈥 is raising questions about the how much the U.S. Department of Education knows about the effectiveness of the program.
