The federal Government Accountability Office is calling for more oversight for 21st Century Community Learning Centers.

Trump鈥檚 proposal was roundly criticized by after-school program advocates such as the Afterschool Alliance, STEM Next, and some members of Congress, who argued that the program provides much-needed support for students and their parents.
Now a new GAO report entitled, 鈥淓ducation Needs to Improve Oversight of Its 21st Century Program,鈥� is raising questions about the how much the U.S. Department of Education knows about the effectiveness of the program.
